In 2019, “Design og strategi” [Design and Strategy] was named one of Norway's most beautiful books. The Most Beautiful Norwegian Books competition Årets Vakreste bøker is organised every year by Grafill. “The purpose is to honour the professionals on the visual side of the book industry and to inspire publishers, authors, graphic designers and illustrators to create quality books in all genres.” (Grafill.no)
Yippee! I'm so happy that my book received silver medal in The Most Beautiful Norwegian Books competition “Årets vakreste bøker”. It’s been fabulous to work with graphic designer Lars Høie, who is the man behind the book design. –Wanda
Jury comment: “This book presents a wide range of processes and methods for strategic development of design and is a text-heavy book that fortunately does not give in to the temptation to try to hide it. The attitude to the design is confident and steady, and here one trusts that the content is good enough for the design to facilitate more than creating form. The book is nicely composed, with an unpretentious and clear detailing where the few tools selected are utilised. Full use of the strong green colour makes the informative illustrations interesting. The grid system and the systematisation of the levels of content are properly highlighted, and the active use of footnotes and section headings fits particularly well with the content. The use of high bulk in the paper gives the book a nice tactile feel, and the binding makes it very reader friendly. Generous book with a clear identity.”
